President's Message

In the past, it was enough to create quality. Today, quality is regarded as a given and is largely determined by the tastes of the consumer. In an increasingly sophisticated marketplace, the consumer demands not only well-made products but also variety, information and style.

Our challenge at Gekkeikan is finding new ways to best utilize our nearly 400 years of sake-brewing experience to effectively appeal to the consumer, offer the appropriate products and create brand loyalty. Whether the consumer wants something traditional or modern, casual or elegant, The Gekkeikan product lineup aims to meet the need.

As a family-owned business in Japan's ancient capital of Kyoto, we at Gekkeikan are accustomed to preserving traditions. We believe that the balance of a sincere respect for the past with our enthusiasm for the future is what distinguishes the Gekkeikan brand.

Gekkeikan is recognized internationally and is currently exported to over 60 countries. Thanks in part to a continuing worldwide trend for healthy Japanese cuisine, we are enjoying increased interest in Gekkeikan products and a greater diversification of markets.
